Do I need a bank card to sign up?
No. You top up your ELK Balance with Mobile Money (MTN or Orange), Credit Card, or Crypto, in the amount you choose. No bank card is required when you sign up or after.
Which countries can I get a number in?
The list of available countries appears in the app when you choose a number, along with the price. It grows regularly; some countries require proof of local address as required by their regulator, and this is shown before purchase.
Are there any hidden commitments or subscriptions?
No commitment. A number is rented by the month and stops when you release it. Calls, data, and top-ups are pay-as-you-go. The price shown is what you're charged — there are no surprise fees at payment.
What happens if my balance reaches zero?
Nothing is charged elsewhere and you're never overdrawn. An unpaid number is first suspended — you're notified by email and just need to top up to reactivate it. It's only released after several days without a top-up.
Are my SMS and calls private?
Your messages and history are used only to provide you with the service and display them to you. We don't resell your data and your contact list doesn't belong to us. Details are in our privacy policy.
Can I resell these services under my own brand?

What exactly is ELK Connect?

How do international calls work?
You dial the number from the app, the destination rate shows before the call rings, and each minute is deducted from your balance. Billing is per minute started, like with almost all operators — no plans, no commitment.
How do I get a virtual number?
You choose the country, an available number appears with its monthly price, and it's active in seconds. Your contacts call you as if it's a local number from their country. Some countries require proof of address as required by their regulator, and this is indicated before purchase.
What is an eSIM and how do I activate it?
An eSIM is a downloaded SIM card — no chip to insert. You buy a data plan for your destination, scan the code we provide, and you have internet when you arrive. Your regular SIM card stays in place alongside it.
What payment methods do you accept?
Mobile Money — MTN and Orange — and Crypto are available today. Card payments are in the works. We only announce a payment method once it actually works.
