ELKConnect

Signal asks for a phone number to create an account, even though the messenger is built for privacy. A rented line lets you open one without handing over your personal number.

An account without your personal line

Signal encrypts your messages but still needs a number. The one you rent does that job, and your everyday number goes nowhere.

SMS verification, readable anywhere

The activation code arrives by SMS in ELK Connect, on whatever device you have in hand — not on a phone left somewhere else.

A stable line, not a disposable number

Signal ties your contacts and conversations to that number. A line rented by the month, that you keep, beats a number that disappears in twenty minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Does Signal accept a virtual number?
In many cases yes. Signal runs its own checks and may refuse certain ranges; that is Signal's decision, not ours. If the code does not go out, write to us before buying something else.
Is my Signal number visible to my contacts?
Signal introduced usernames so you need not share your number. A rented line is still useful for signing up, which always requires a reachable line.
Can I get the code by call instead of SMS?
Signal offers a voice call after several attempts. Our numbers receive calls too, but voice reception depends on the country and the carrier: SMS stays the more reliable route.

Worth knowing

Losing the number means losing the ability to reactivate the account on a new device. Write down your Signal PIN before you stop the line.
