Receive and send text messages on your ELK number, from the app, wherever you are. It is what makes a foreign number genuinely usable: the verification codes your bank, your operator or a government office send to a local number reach you, even ten thousand kilometres away.

How it works
Get a number
Texting comes with every ELK number, with nothing to switch on. The number you rent receives messages as soon as it is active.
Your messages arrive in the app
The "Messages" menu. Each one is filed under the number that received it, with the date and the sender. Nothing to install, nothing to forward.
Reply if you want to
You reply from the same screen, and the other person sees your ELK number — not your phone’s.
What's included
Receiving costs nothing
No charge on arrival, however many messages. It is included in the number’s rental.
The price of sending is shown first
You see the amount before you send, and it comes off your ELK Balance. A long message is several texts at the carrier, and the price says so.
Nothing is lost if a send fails
If the carrier refuses the message, the amount goes straight back onto your balance. You never pay for a message that did not leave.
Your verification codes follow you
Bank, tax office, mobile operator, social accounts: anything that insists on a number from that country reaches you where you are.
A real example

Questions we are asked
Will I receive the texts my bank at home sends?
Yes, if your bank sends them to your ELK number. So you have to register that number with them as your contact number — that is the only step, and it is done once.
Can I text any country?
Almost. Sending to United States numbers needs an extra regulatory registration we have not completed yet; sending to the rest of the world, and receiving from anywhere, both work.
Can I send bulk messages to a customer list?
Not yet. ELK Connect texting is a personal service, built for your own conversations. Marketing SMS is a different business with its own consent and opt-out rules — we will only offer it when we can do it properly.
Can ELK Connect read my messages?
They are stored so they can be shown to you, and our team does not access them outside a request from you or a legal obligation. A text message is never end-to-end encrypted, at any operator: do not use it for anything that must stay secret.

Worth knowing before you buy
- Sending to United States numbers is not open yet: US regulation requires senders to be registered in advance.
- Bulk SMS and marketing campaigns are not offered.
- A text message is not end-to-end encrypted — true at every operator, not only here.
