How it works
Check your phone supports it
Most phones sold since 2019 do. On iPhone and on Android alike, look in settings under mobile plans: if 'add eSIM' exists, your phone is compatible.
Pick the destination and the data
A country, a duration, a number of gigabytes. The total price is shown before you buy, in your currency, with nothing added at the end.
Scan the QR code
It appears in the app right after purchase and stays in your history. Scanning installs the profile on the phone: it is the equivalent of inserting the card.
It starts when you arrive
The plan begins when the phone connects to the network there, not when you buy. So you can buy a week before leaving and lose nothing.

The eSIM occupies a second line. You keep receiving your normal calls and texts while data goes through the local plan.

Questions we are asked
Is my phone compatible?
Open your phone's settings, network or mobile plan section: if there is an option to add a plan or an eSIM, the answer is yes. iPhones from the XR onward, and most recent mid-to-high-range Android phones, are. Check before buying — an installed eSIM profile cannot be moved to another phone.
Do I keep my number?
Yes. The eSIM provides data; your usual line keeps working alongside it for calls and texts. Many travellers simply turn off data on their main line to avoid roaming and leave calls on.
When does the plan start?
At the first connection to the network there, not at purchase. Buying early consumes nothing.
Can I share the connection with another device?
Tethering works on most plans and phones, but not all: some local operators block it. If this matters to you, ask us before buying for that destination.
What happens when the data runs out?
The connection stops. Nothing is charged beyond it and there are no out-of-plan fees. You can buy another plan from the app, as long as you have a connection — hotel wifi is enough.
